Gluttony Loves Company
We are officially one week away from the most gluttonous holiday ever aka Thanksgiving. I invite you to go to one of these restaurants and get a head start on expanding that stomach of yours to make room for all the food you plan to eat on Gobble Gobble – good or bad. These spots serve up large servings sometimes enough for two or more. So eat your heart out and make room in that tummy.
Pio Pio: Despite being a chain restaurant, the well known Peruvian restaurant Pio, Pio; doesn’t skimp ontaste and flavor. You’ll get more than your money’s worth here with large portions, that resemble Thanksgiving dinner if you let it.
What to order: EVERYTHING! My go to is the Matador Combo since it feeds a lot of people or one if you can handle that.
Hill Country: Barbecue isn’t one of the go-to cuisines here in NYC. Luckily, there are a few true gems to get some finger licking, fall off the bone good barbecue in the city. Hill Country isn’t your typical restaurant in that, the food is served cafeteria style – you grab a tray and go to the various stations to order your meats by the pound. You have access to 12 types of meat and you can try all of them.
What to order: Get the Pitmaster if you want a taste of all the menu has to offer.
Szechuan Gourmet: More than just noodles, this spot serves up plates filled with hefty portions ofWestern Chinese food. The expansive menu is filled with options and a great deal for the price. If you’ve ever been scared to try Chinese food outside of your comfort zone, this where you go to try something new. Also, it’s one of the few places where vegetarians, vegans and meat eaters alike can all come to be gluttonous together.
Location: 21 W 39th St, New York, NY 10018
What to order: Double cooked slicked pork belly with chili leeks
