What’s The Food!
Each week our very own food writer @itsmewandie visits some of New York City’s most delicious restaurants and food spots. She’s going to report back to us suggesting what spots we should all be checking out and ensuring we have multiple options when looking for something good to eat in the city. Here are this weeks food picks, enjoy!
Cucina di Pesce
Any seafood lovers out there? Any Italian food lovers out there? How about both? If the answer is YES, Cucina di Pesce might be a great place for you to visit. It’s rustic and the lighting is very dim. More important, the food is delicious. Their black fettuccine is a popular dish, which is a squid ink fettuccine with shrimp, asparagus and pernod sauce. I hear people dig the whole fish of the day as well. This restaurant is a good place for a nice dinner date or dining alone. Pictured above is the seafood fettuccine.

Blue Ribbon Sushi Izakaya
Don’t like Italian food? Maybe sushi and saké is more your speed. Blue Ribbon Sushi Izakaya has got you covered. The best thing about this Japanese restaurant is that there are many tasty things to eat even if you don’t eat sushi. The skewers are major and you really can’t go wrong with any teriyaki dish you try. The place is also visually stimulating, so that is always a nice bonus. They also have sorbet for dessert, how could you not love this place? Blue Ribbon Sushi Izakaya: 187 Orchard Street 212.466.0404, just going to leave that there and you’re welcome.
Snacks!!!!! Some of you may be hip, some of you may not be but let us take a cyber visit down to Doughnut Plant. YUM! They have yeast doughnuts and they have cake doughnuts. Both delicious AF. The yeast donuts have flavors like Vanilla Bean, Passion Fruit and Valrhona Chocolate. The cake doughnuts have flavors like: Tres Leches, Coffee Cake, Cinnamon Sugar and Red Velvet. Some doughnuts are cream filled, one of the best ones is the Peanut Butter and Blackberry Jam. If you like PB&J’s, you’re going to love that doughnut. They even have vegan options. Doughnut Plant has a few locations. Visit their site for one near you.
