WTMKids: Here’s What’s Happening the Last Two Weekends of September

As we approach the fall, the activities don’t have to slow up. Kids are active all year round, here’s what’s happening during the last weekend of September!

Hudson River Park’s NYC Marine Science Festival 

COST: FREE!
WHEN: Saturday, September 22 (Rain date: Sunday, September 23)

STEM is such a huge deal in our kid’s education, why not get a hands-on experience right here in our city? This event explores the levels of marine science with a science stage to explore wildlife,really cool experiments and some really fun activities. Did I mention it’s FREE?! Register with the link above and enjoy a fun filled day surrounding marine science in Hudson River Park. Below is the schedule for the science stage:

11 – 11:30am -Funkinships
11:30am – 12pm Mad Science
12 – 12:30pm Science Bob
12:30 – 1:30pm Birds of Prey
1:30 – 2pm Science Bob
2 – 2:30pm Wildlife Theater
3 – 3:30pm Funkinships

The 9th Annual World Maker Faire 

COST: adults ($40) children 3-17 ($25)
WHEN: Saturday, September 22 & Sunday, September 23
TIME: 10am-6pm
WHERE: New York Hall Of Science 47-01 111th Street Queens, NY 11368
ADVANCED TICKETS: World Maker Faire (tickets can also be purchased at the door, adult ($50) children ($30) so it’s best to get an advanced ticket!)

Following the STEM frenzy at The Hall of Science is the 9th annual two-day expo of scientific fun! Created to inspire arts & crafts, STEM, food and music. With over 800 exhibits and hands-on stations, there’s something for everyone in the family, all while gaining knowledge on what it means to be a “maker” while you and the kids explore.

Nikelodeon’s World Wide Day of Play

COST: FREE,
WHEN: Saturday, September 29th
TIME:12pm- they kick us out the park
WHERE: Prospect Park, BK, NY

Most of us with children grew up on the Nickelodeon wave, so we’re all familiar with the World Wide Day of Play to some degree, the last stop on their tour is Brooklyn. Bring your kids, inner child and a change of clothes for a slime filled day of outdoor fun! Again it’s free so come ready for a full day of activities and be sure to tag #WTMKids in your photos.
