WTM Food Presents: #TheGrind – Made In Manhattan
Working in corporate America (or any job, really) you notice just how much money you spend on food weekly. #TheGrind is a series on cheap yet fulfilling food options for millennials on the go trying to eat but not break the bank while doing it. On this week of #TheGrind we’re serving up options for our readers working in Manhattan and Harlem.
First stop, The Taco Shop! We love a good chipotle burrito just as much as ya’ll do but if you feel like switching it up during your break, stop by this cozy restaurant. Located in the heart of Greenwich Village, the Taco Shop is the definition of balling on a budget with taco plates starting at just $3 and a wide variety of tamales, quesadillas, and authentic Mexican side dishes. They also offer happy hour specials from 3-7pm every Friday. Count us in!

For those of us who are on the go in Harlem, let’s get into Jacob Soul Food Restaurant and Salad Bar. We love this spot because instead of a typical menu, the food selections are served buffet style with new choices everyday ranging from soul food to seafood and even vegan options. With prices ranging from $6-$8 per pound, depending on the size of the container you choose, Jacob’s is the perfect lunch stop for a good home cooked meal on a budget.
