#TheGrind – A Queens Story

We’re switching gears from Brooklyn to Queens for this week, so if you feel like making the trip for some good food or you work right down the block here are two restaurants in Queens for your lunch break! In the other boroughs, we found some amazing Caribbean food, tacos, and even went vegan. Those of you looking for some good American food and overall dining experience, Mom’s Kitchen & Bar in Astoria is just the place for you. Their brunch menu alone is enough to come back for more with options like steak and eggs, chicken and waffles, and shrimp and grits served all day! They also have separate lunch entrees starting as low as $12 or try their signature milkshakes to cater to your sweet tooth. Sidebar: for those of you who work in Midtown, Mom’s also has a location on 9th Avenue between 48th and 49th Street.

Astoria, NY 11106

If you don’t have time to sit down for lunch, we recommend Burgandy’s Café in Jamaica, Queens. This cozy soul food spot is known for its fried whiting and wide range of fresh seafood options. Did we also mention the mango, jerk and teriyaki wings starting at just $2.75?
